01Who we are
Zaiman Electrical Academy ("we", "us") provides live online exam preparation tuition for electrical qualifications. We operate the website zaiman.co.uk.
Trading name: Zaiman Electrical Academy
Legal status: A sole trader business based in England
Contact: admin@zaiman.co.uk · WhatsApp 07767 796097
Postal address: Available on request — email us and we will provide it
All our courses are delivered online, so there is no venue to attend. Email is the quickest way to reach us and the correct address for any formal notice, including cancelling a booking.
Prices shown on the website are the total amount payable. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged and none is reclaimable.
02What we provide
We provide live, tutor-led online tuition delivered over Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet across two consecutive days (Saturday and Sunday). Sessions are taught in real time. We do not sell pre-recorded video courses.
Course fees cover tuition only. They do not include the awarding body's examination fee, the cost of the relevant standard (BS 7671 or BS 5839-1), or any other materials.
03We are not an exam centre
Important. Zaiman Electrical Academy is not an approved centre for City & Guilds, EAL or any other awarding body. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of City & Guilds, EAL, the IET, BSI or any awarding organisation.
We do not register candidates, invigilate examinations, or issue qualifications or certificates. You must book and sit your examination separately at an approved centre of your choosing, and pay that centre's fees directly. We can suggest where to look, but the arrangement is between you and that centre.
References on this website to qualifications such as C&G 2382, BS 5839-1, C&G 2365 and C&G 2391 describe the examinations our tuition prepares you for. Those names remain the property of their respective owners.
04No guarantee of exam success
We will teach with reasonable care and skill, but we cannot and do not guarantee that you will pass any examination. Your result depends on your own preparation, prior experience and performance on the day.
Attending a course does not entitle you to a refund if you do not pass, and no representation on this website should be read as a promise of a particular outcome.
05Booking and payment
Registering your interest costs nothing and does not reserve a place. Your place is confirmed only when payment has been received in full.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. Your joining link is sent by email before the course weekend; it is your responsibility to give us an email address you check and to look in your spam folder.
You must be 18 or over to book. If you book on behalf of someone else, you are responsible for payment and for making sure they have read these terms.
06Cancellation and refunds
Your legal right to cancel
Because you book online, you normally have the right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days of booking and receive a full refund.
If your course starts within those 14 days. At booking you are asked to confirm that you want the course to go ahead on the date you have chosen, even where that date falls inside the 14-day period, and that you understand you will lose the right to cancel once the course has been fully delivered.
If you cancel after the course has begun but before it finishes, we may keep a proportionate amount reflecting the tuition already delivered.
Cancelling outside the statutory period
Where the 14-day right no longer applies, our policy is:
- More than 7 days before the course: full refund, or move free of charge to a later date.
- 3 to 7 days before: move free of charge to a later date, or a 50% refund.
- Fewer than 3 days before, or non-attendance: no refund, as the place has been held and cannot be resold at short notice. We will normally offer a transfer to a later date as a goodwill gesture, at our discretion.
To cancel or move a booking, email admin@zaiman.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp, giving your name and course date. Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within 14 days.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.
07If we change or cancel a class
Occasionally we may need to move or cancel a course — for example through illness or a technical failure at our end. If that happens we will offer you a place on the next available date or a full refund, whichever you prefer.
We are not responsible for costs you incur around the course, such as booking time off work or exam fees paid to a third party, so please do not commit to those until your place is confirmed.
08What you need to provide
To take part you need a device capable of joining a video call, a working internet connection, and your own current copy of the relevant standard — BS 7671 (18th Edition, Amendment 4) or BS 5839-1 — together with highlighters and index tabs.
We cannot supply these standards, and you should not share or copy them; they are published works protected by copyright. If you join without your own copy you will still be able to attend, but you will get considerably less from the weekend.
We are not responsible for your internet connection, device or software. If you are unable to join because of a problem at your end, the cancellation terms above apply as normal.
09Conduct during live sessions
We ask everyone to be courteous to the tutor and to other students. We may remove anyone from a session for abusive, discriminatory or seriously disruptive behaviour, without refund.
You may not record, photograph, stream or otherwise capture any part of a session, and you may not share your joining link with anyone else. Your booking is for one person.
We do not routinely record sessions. If we ever need to record one, we will tell you before it starts, explain why, and you may leave your camera and microphone off.
10Course materials and copyright
Any notes, slides, practice questions or other materials we provide remain our property. They are for your personal study only. You may not copy, resell, publish or distribute them, or use them to deliver training yourself.
BS 7671, BS 5839-1 and other published standards are the copyright of their publishers. We do not reproduce or distribute them, and neither should you.
11Our liability
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Our tuition is educational. It is not a substitute for professional judgement, and it does not certify you as competent to carry out electrical work. You remain responsible for working safely and lawfully, and for complying with BS 7671, the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and any other applicable requirements. We accept no liability for any work you carry out.
Except where the loss results from our negligence, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the course. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost earnings or lost work opportunities.
12Reviews
Reviews published on this website are submitted by people who have attended our courses. We read submissions before publishing them, to remove spam, abuse, personal data and anything unlawful.
We do not write reviews ourselves, we do not pay or incentivise anyone to leave one, and we do not suppress genuine reviews because they are critical. If you have left a review and believe it has been handled unfairly, please contact us.
13Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please tell us first — most things are quickly put right. Email admin@zaiman.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp, and we will respond within 5 working days.
14Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you booked.
